On Faith, Peace, & Justice: Reflections of a Queer Palestinian Quaker

This is a public lecture by an internationally recognized scholar of Palestinian politics and society. Dr. Sa'ed Atshan is Chair of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies and Associate Professor of Anthropology at Swarthmore College. Prior to Swarthmore, Dr. Atshan was Associate Professor of Anthropology at Emory University.

Dr. Atshan's work has appeared in such media outlets as NPR, The Nation, LA Times, NBC, and The New Yorker. Atshan is the author of Queer Palestine and the Empire of Critique (Stanford University Press, 2020), coauthor (with Katharina Galor) of The Moral Triangle: Germans, Israelis, Palestinians (Duke University Press, 2020), and co-editor (with Galor) of Reel Gender: Palestinian and Israeli Cinema (Bloomsbury, 2022). He is currently completing a book on Paradoxes of Humanitarianism: The Social Life of Aid in the Palestinian Territories (Stanford University Press).
